My name is Connie, I am a retired IBM learning and development leader with over 25 years’ experience designing and delivering prestigious learning initiatives. I hold a Doctorate degree and Master’s degree in Education, and I am an ICF Certified (ACC) coach.

My successful career as a leader evolved by applying trusted advisor skills to work with clients in order to deeply understand their business needs and in turn, deliver the right solution. I am passionate about helping individuals achieve their professional goals through lifelong learning, coaching and leadership development.

I am sought after for my proven track record to drive strategic initiatives, enable executive decision-making, and manage high-impact projects within complex business environments.

At IBM, I introduced and delivered IBM’s first of a kind, and premier AI Academy across the company, co-developed our first external offering on Cloud education and certification, introduced and designed a joint leadership program between IBM and external Fortune 100 clients, and led the company’s thought leadership on learning design principles.

Most recently, I founded Lancelot Consulting to continue my work in learning, leadership and development as a freelance consultant. My goal is to offer my experience in the L&D space to help individuals achieve executive presence, maintain a growth mindset, and reach their highest potential as individuals.

About Connie

Working together

Growth inspired characteristics of a leader

The 4 growth-inspired behaviors that I see most often, and where I have expertise in, are progressive, altruistic, decisive, and the ability to empower. My approach during requirements gathering is to consider these attributes and then design learning and/or coaching to balance common traits for all leaders, at different levels. The goal is to ultimately create a create a culture of resilience, adaptability, and continuous growth.

These behaviors align well to Hogan Assessment and Leadership Development principles, in that human science, performance, and who we are is how we lead (our personality). I believe considering growth characteristics, or other traits that are similar, can assist stakeholders with development and succession planning.

Comprehensive training and consulting solutions applying proven methodologies

I apply a personalized approach to each consulting engagement that empower your team and drive long-term success. I recommend to my clients closely integrating neuroscience, coaching, and actionable planning.

Neuroscience

A holistic and creative approach to goal-setting and skill-building, helping clients understand their unique brain wiring and receptors to navigate challenges, manage stress, build resilience, and enhance self-awareness by recognizing the brain’s response to perceived threats and anxiety.

While there are multiple factors to consider when designing learning with neuroscience principles, there are 3 top principles:

  1. Action learning - a method to actively solve problems

  2. Integration - use stories to integrate new ideas

  3. Feedback - continuously use feedback to teach and reinforce new behaviors

Coaching

In coaching sessions, I reinforce client autonomy and self-regulation while fostering accountability and goal alignment.

When appropriate, assessments can be a powerful tool to help identify leadership behavior gaps and support growth through clear, actionable strategies.

I have experience coaching individuals and teams and use a consistent framework based on the ICF (International Coaching Federation) set of competencies.

My philosophy to a successful coaching engagement is set on a foundation to:

  1. Apply rigor to the highest ethical standards

  2. Gain agreement so that the outcome is aligned and achieved

  3. Create a trusted space for growth and transformation

Action planning

Over the course of my career, I have developed deep experience in developing measurable action plans.

Action planning is a methodology which can be applied across in-person or virtual led classroom environments, individual or team-based coaching sessions, or as a reflection exercise at the end of self-paced learning.

I apply template frameworks to help individuals and teams identify:

  1. Timeline

  2. Goals

  3. Resources

  4. Tracking and support

I believe that action planning is a fundamental and critical component of learning, leadership and development and is instrumental in tracking success for the individual and for sponsors.
